Bhuvnesh Bal Vidyalaya
The founder of Bal Hitkari Samiti, Sh. Bhuvnesh Chaturvedi ji (2 May 1928 – 2 March 2014) was actively involved in student and youth movements.He was the President of NSUI during 1953-56. Bhuvnesh Chaturvedi’s visit to USSR in 1955 as youth delegate representing India chosen by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru became a turning point in his life. Inspired by the school education of the USSR, an eco-system for Joy of Learning, along with reaching out to the deprived strata of society, he set up Bal Hitkari Samiti in 1957 under which Bal Mandir started on November, 14, 1957. The journey began with a handful of students housed in a borrowed room of a Government School.
Bal Mandir moved into a new building in 1962 with the blessingsof Sh. Krishna Menon and Maharani Sahiba Shiv Kumariji. Bal Vidyalaya was inaugurated on 26thJuly, 1974 by Sh. Mohan Lal Sukhadia. Bhuvnesh Chaturvedi ji’s commitment to the social concerns, political acumen and activism endeared him to all luminaries like Smt. Indira Gandhi, Sh. Narasimha Rao, Sh. Manmohan Singh, Sh. Chandra Shekhar, Sh. I K Gujral, Hon’ble Sh .Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Sh. Venkataraman and many tall figures of art and culture Sh. Prithvi Raj and Sh. BalkaviBairagi, who have graced the school by their presence.
Reposing trust in his integrity and ability, big business houses like DCM Group, JK Industries, Binani Group, Somani Industries, along with old students came forth to partner with him generously in this great endeavour to promote child education which resulted in creation of these two great schools. We also stay beholden to all his partners for holding hands with him in his accomplishments and achievements.
